Aup! Welcome to Doncaster Skate Co-operative

Doncaster's only  indoor skate park and skate shop, with so much more than you'd expect.

We are ran and owned collectively by skateboarders, and here for the community. Our park consists of a large indoor warehouse skatepark, a concrete DIY street outdoor park, a community garden space, a free library,  vegan café and more.

We love skateboarding and want everyone to feel included and welcomed at our park.  We know how important a safe indoor space can be, and we welcome everyone, no matter who you are or what wheels you ride.

We run a variety of sessions, so its always worth checking what's on before heading over. Most sessions are all wheels welcome mixed sessions, but some days we do age or wheel specific sessions. Our timetable and more information can be found below. Booking isn't necessary for most sessions apart from lessons and we've got plenty of equipment to rent if you haven't got your own.

Our facilities include unisex toilets, a co-working space in our café where you can plug in and get some work done, or chill out. We've got a rack full of good reads and old school board games, an outdoor seating area in the garden to enjoy good weather when it comes, plus loads of free on site parking. We're also just a 5 minute skate from Doncaster's train & bus station with our city centre close by if you're coming by public transport.

MIXED SESSIONS

Our mixed sessions are for everyone! Whether you're a parent bringing your 3 year old on their 3 wheeler or 40 years old and shredding for just as long, these sessions are for all ages and abilities of riding. All wheels are welcome - skateboard, scooter, BMX, inlines and quads - and we have skateboards, scooters, helmets and pads available to hire. Helmets are required for all under 16's, and under 12's require a responsible adult to be on site at all times.

SKATEBOARDING GROUP LESSONS

Whether you've just started and need to learn the basics, or want to learn how to kickflip or nail those nose crooks, our instructors can help you progress and meet your skateboarding goals.

Our group lessons run every Wednesday, and are suitable for ages 5 and up. All equipment is provided, including safety gear to help you feel confident while learning. Our group lessons are run in collaboration with Crazy Dan Skateboarding Coach, who is a SkateGB qualified instructor and has been skating for nearly 30 years. Our class sizes are a maximum of five students per instructor in group settings so we can ensure everyone gets the help they need.

All group lessons need to be prebooked online.

BEGINNER SKATE SESSIONS - ALL AGES

Lessons not quite your thing? Pop along to our beginner skateboarding sessions on Mondays. Come skate with other beginners of all ages in a safe and welcoming environment. Our coaches Lewis and Emma will be out there to give tips to help you get those tricks, guidance on the perfect set up for you with lots of different shapes and sizes of skateboards to try out, or help out anyone feeling a bit lost or shy, or not sure where to start or even stand. These sessions are suitable for ages 10 and up, with no age limit! You're never too old to learn and this is the ideal session for anyone wanting to give skateboarding a go. These sessions are closely monitored so that we can make sure all beginners are having fun and have no worries about being in anyone's way or slowing anyone down. We all started somewhere!

121 LESSONS

Our 121 lessons are perfect for anyone starting out and wanting more focused coaching, or for those with extra learning needs. 121 lessons are available on Friday's, Saturdays or Sundays with Lewis or Emma. Our coaches are also available to hire if you are a family wanting to learn together, or have a few kids all wanting to try out skateboarding.

Please have a chat to us about booking your lesson and we can assess your needs to recommend the right coach or lesson type for you.

All members and staff are DBS checked, have safeguarding & first aid training as well as being riders ourselves, so we all understand the environment and associated risks that are a part of these sports, and we're always around to give you a helping hand

Book your session here

Sessions can be booked online, but you are able to just rock up, walk in and pay for your session at the door.

Your session starts when you get booked in and skating, so don't worry about having to be exactly on time and missing some of your skating time if you're prebooking

Not got any of your own equipment? No worries!

We've got skateboards, scooters, a few sizes of rollerblades, quads and a few random playful boards to have a go on. Rentals are £3 and you can switch out what you're riding as you please. Skateboard? Yes please. Wiggle board? Go on then. Bit of a scoot about to finish? Sure!

Helmets are available to hire for £2 per session and we have lots of different sizes available. We've not found a head one of our helmets couldn't fit yet, but maybe you're the one?

We also have free elbow and kneepads to borrow, as well as wrist guards. These are mostly in children's sizes so please bear this in mind if you're an adult wanting to borrow some safety gear. We do have adult sized Pro-Tec safety sets available to buy in the skate shop.

Under 16's are required to wear a helmet at all times. Bicycle helmets are okay, but don't offer as much protection as the type's of helmets we recommend. If you aren't sure if any of your equipment isn't suitable then feel free to get in touch for some advice. Adults aren't required to wear helmets but its always a good idea, and anyone cant rent our equipment.

Our café and family area's are easily accessed by a wheelchair, with wheelchair accessible toilets available on request as a key is needed to access the room. The spectating areas are semi accessible but have fairly narrow corridors up to the ramps, so turning circles are small.  We are working to try to make our building more accessible for everyone, so please always feel free to come chat to a member of staff about your access needs and what we could do better with in the main family areas.

We have goals to add a lift so that upstairs becomes accessible for everyone too. Your donations helps us do more cool stuff like that, and make sure no one is left out of our spaces due to access needs.

If you are an extreme sports wheelchair user, please get in touch if you'd like to come shred our park. We're pretty sure our park would be awesome to ride, but as able bodied skaters we're not totally sure (and we'd really like to be sure). Give us a call, email or pop in to the park during our opening hours.

We love supporting primarily local to the UK and small, independent brands, but you'll also find your usual well known and trusted names knocking about in the shop.

Pop in to our little skate shop and check out our ever growing and changing range (and have a cheeky skate while you're at it). We can assemble, grip and give you a lesson to get you rolling if you need a hand.

Everything online can be picked up, viewed, stood on or tried out in store, and we have a much bigger range in the store than online. All of our staff are riders themselves, and will be able to answer all of your questions regarding your new skateboard set up. We have a wide range of quality hardware and decks for all budgets, and even second hand skate wear so you can upgrade your look at the same time too. Nothing we wouldn't skate or wear ourselves!

Complete scooters, parts, hardware and protection - we have everything you need to get rolling on a skateboard or scooter
